Unplanned Pregnancy

An unplanned pregnancy is one of the most harrowing experiences to go through especially if there are complications in your marriage or relationship.  This is a state when all emotions are felt (mostly fear of what would happen in the future).  Some may get excited about the idea but a greater part of those who have experienced this have gone through shock, then disbelief, and then acceptance or denial.

Unplanned Pregnancy can be complicated.

This situation could be less complicated if you are in a relashionship and you are just not prepared to have children yet. Having a baby could be the worst thing that could happen to a couple who is out to conquer the world—or it could turn out to be a blessing.

Getting Over the Shock and Working it Out

Once the shock wears off, it’s time to face the reality that you have to make some tough decisions soon.  Would you want to be a mother now?  How would you explain the situation to your partner, relatives, and friends?  Will you be able to withstand the social pressures?  In this confusing situation, it’s time to take a breather and do some serious thinking (with your partner if needs be).

Options for your unplanned Pregnancy

There are three available options for any pregnant woman: to keep her baby; have it adopted; or have it aborted.  The first option is the most natural setup that any child could be raised in.  If you do decide to provide a home for the baby, then that is a noble thing to do.

The next choice is to have it adopted if you are not that ready to become a parent yet.  Making this option will give the child a chance to live a life.  The third choice—and probably the most difficult to make — is abortion.  Before you go through this, know the laws in your state.  Second, you must also seek the counsel of your friends and especially your partner.  Also, does your religion dictate anything that is opposite to this practice?  Weigh all the options before taking this irreversible course of action.

Sooner or later, you are going to tell everyone that you are pregnant so better get on with it — and face it like a real woman!
