Morning Sickness Remedies
Morning SicknessFor pregnant women
who don’t have hyperemesis gravidarum but still suffer from morning sickness, there are several suggested remedies that can alleviate the uncomfortable feelings. Pregnant women who experience morning sickness are advised to eat smaller meals but should eat more often. They should also avoid lying down after eating because this will only lead to vomiting.
Avoiding high temperatures
Pregnant women should avoid warm places. Higher temperatures have been known to increase nauseous feelings. They should avoid specific foods that intensify the feelings of nausea. For some women, these foods are spicy ones, while for others, any food that contains eggs or oil induces morning sickness. Instead, they should drink fluids at least 30 minutes before or after eating. They should also eat soda crackers before getting out of bed. This is especially helpful when the morning sickness occurs right after the women gets up from the bed. To further lessen the frequency and severity of morning sickness, pregnant women should also engage in exercise.
Skipping meals is a bad idea
When a pregnant woman experiences morning sickness, she may think that skipping meals is a good idea. This is not advisablem - skipping meals is damaging to the health of both the baby and the mother.
